Dinner at Tasty House was an absolute standout — from the second we sat down, the whole experience felt thoughtful. Our server Wayne made the night: engaging, attentive, and clearly proud of the menu. His recommendations were spot-on — we started with the handmade dumplings (you can tell they’re made in-house, not from a freezer) and moved into the General Tso’s chicken, which completely reset our expectations for the dish. Clean, fresh, thoughtfully made — none of that heavy, greasy takeout weight you brace yourself for. Every bite felt intentional. The bonus? We got to meet the executive chef and the team, and you could tell instantly that the care on the plate comes from real pride in the kitchen, not just a formula. Wayne also gave us expert recommendations on traditional dishes to try next time — we can hardly wait to go back and work our way through his list. If you’re debating where to go for genuinely great Chinese-American food with service to match, stop debating. Ask for Wayne, and don’t skip the dumplings. Came here with my family and honestly really enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were pretty generous. The beef was my favorite, and the shrimp was really good too. Service was friendly and everything came out pretty quickly. Definitely a place I’d come back to when I’m craving Chinese food.

Just checked out the newly renovated spot and was blown away! The new interior is super warm and inviting with great wood accents, and the private rooms are much more spacious now—perfect for family dinners or catching up with a big group of friends. I was expecting the prices to jump after the upgrade, but it’s still very reasonable at around $30-$40 a head. The food is as good as ever, if not better. The Fish Head with Pancakes is a total showstopper—the fish head is massive (literally bigger than my face 😂), the meat is incredibly tender, and the pancakes soaked up all that rich, savory broth perfectly. The Stir-fried Yellow Beef had amazing wok hei and was super tender over rice, and the Roujiamo (Chinese Hamburger) was perfectly crispy with melt-in-your-mouth braised pork. We also loved the Spicy Cold Noodles for their chewy texture and great numbing spice, and the drinks were all solid—the Mango Pomelo Sago was packed with fruit and perfectly sweet-tart. Great vibes, expanded menu, and fantastic value. Will definitely be coming back!

The overall experience at this restaurant was excellent. The service, food, and atmosphere were all very satisfying. It offers a fusion-style menu with a wide variety of choices, making it easy to find something for everyone. The drinks were also a pleasant surprise—creative and different from the usual options. Our whole family had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the meal. Overall, it was a great experience with good value, and we will definitely come back again.

this place is definitely worth trying! This 10-year Beijing-style restaurant in LA’s Chinese community was recently renovated, and the vibe is now super elegant and cozy — perfect for student gatherings, celebrations, and catching up with friends. The Peking duck was definitely the highlight 🦆 Authentic flavor, crispy skin, and they even make duck soup with the bones after. So comforting! We also tried: • 3.5 lb King Fish Head with pancake soak — huge portion, rich flavorful broth • Braised pork with abalone — soft, savory, and super satisfying • Crispy shrimp, sea cucumber with scallion sauce, salted egg yolk scallops, lemongrass seafood chicken… every dish looked amazing and tasted authentic. Their new tea drinks are so cute too 🍹 The Coconut Pineapple Dream and White Peach Love were both refreshing, photogenic, and surprisingly good. Even the tea set got upgraded! The environment is beautiful, dishes are presentation-worthy, and portions are super generous. Honestly such a good spot for graduation dinners, birthdays, or family-style gatherings. We got the $398 banquet set with 12 dishes + drinks, which was actually really worth it for the amount and quality.
